Love by the Moon...Finished!

There wasn't much more to do, really....I zigzagged the seams between the fused Hanna ribbons in the border, sewed down the moon as well...added some teeny tiny beads to the stars to fill them in just a little...put a serif of sorts on the "L"s.....and added a sun. Though it is pretty low key and not the main focus, it did need to be there.
I stretched it over foam core and put a nice finished back on it. I wrote an article on how to do this for CQMagOnline a few years ago...you can find that here.

So here we have it....

I hope Andy and his girl both like it...and that they enjoy plenty more love by the moon....;-)

Thanks for your encouragement and suggestions, too! Landscape quilts are so fun....

It's really lovely. I can't imagine anyone who loves the moon or loves loving by the moon who wouldn't love this moon. I'm sure Andy and his girlfriend will be...dare I say...over the moon when they see it! And now they can love by the moon all day long since the moon will always be out...of course, the moon really is always out of course...which means she's really living by the sun AND the moon but I shouldn't get so technical...

What do you want, Andy, do you want the moon? Well just say so and Allie will throw a lasso around it and pull it down for you...

And that, my dear, is a quote from It's a Wonderful Life...in the spirit of the season as well as the moon.

Signing off so I won't take up any more of your blog space...

I love the beaded lettering and am wondering what size of beads you used. I am really going to have to try that...
And the 3D effect is lovely...

So simple and yet so beautiful. I love the layered shoreline. Must have been a fun change from the floral themes.

I can just imagine how thrilled your nephew is going to be with this. A true work of art. It's amazing how you can create both perspective and depth with a few colors and seams. Just mahvelous!!

This turned out great!!! I am impressed with how it was done with so much beauty and creativity - under pressure and a time constraint!
