Love by the Moon...Day 4

Thanks for your very kind comments regarding this little piece! It's been a lot of fun to work on...

One of my quilt buddies actually called me long distance this morning to tell me how much she liked it....and that she hoped I wasn't going to put flowers all over it!
I thought that was so funny....

....but I am trying to figure out how to emphasize the "Live by the Sun" part of the equation...and had thought some growing things (yes, flowers) in the yellow border could do that. I'll just have to see.

Meanwhile, I got the lettering on. It will probably be jazzed up a little but for the most part it is done, using a beaded backstitch.

And I do want to add some more stars....

hmmmmm...maybe a simple vine up the side and some tussock-y dune grass down the bottom on the beach?
Its gorgeous and I am so pleased to have you back posting regularly.

Did you use some paint to get the moonlit effect?

It is so gorgeous - joyful and serene.

Another way to emphasize the "Live by the Sun" part, might be to have tracks of footprints in the yellow border - perhaps one, then joined by another, then them dancing together!

SO many things to say!!

1. The placement of the "water" fabric that has the light of the moon reflected....brilliant!
2. The stars are wonderful! and I can't click close enough to see them! Personally, I don't think you need more...and they are twinkling so!
3. The phrasing is PERFECT!
4. I am totally impressed with all of those mitered corners...
5. Being a creature of the light...I can't wait to see how the sun rises in your piece.

It's quite lovely and perfect if you stopped right now.

I'm so happy for Andy I could spit...and I don't even know him...but I'm still sending him my positive energy...so make sure he knows it's from me if he feels an extra jolt this weekend!

You have such a gift! So few things pulled together to say so much! Eleven pieces of fabric, some stitches and some beads? You truly are an artist. It is BEAUTIFUL!!!

Allie, this is so lovely! And I love the different beads you used to highlight "Sun" and "Moon"!

I love the simplicity of this and the lovely muted colours. I am sure the lucky lady will love it too.
