Fun News!

I was surprised and thrilled to learn that "The Home in the Garden" won first prize in the "My Quilts/Our History" contest sponsored by the Alliance for American Quilts. You can see the announcement here at their website.
You can spend hours and hours learning about quilt history and viewing hundreds of quilts at their site, too. They do such great work!

An award winner in every sense of the word! Isn't it great that "your house" won an award -- I mean your little piece of the world...makes it even more special...Watch out for the tourist buses, they'll be coming next..."Ladies and Gentleman, here is the famous home of award-winning quilter Allison Aller, made famous by her first-prize quilt...." I'll set up a souvenir/refreshment stand right near those pretty pink flowers...I'll make a mint! Or maybe there's already some mint in that garden...

Congratulations, Allie, YOU ROCK!! I don't know why you were surprised. I'm not - and I bet most of your fan base isn't surprised either. Your piece is gorgeous (as is everything you do). And I LOVE that it's the only CQ'ed piece and was not only a winner, but totally "kicked butt"!
