Mary Jo Hiney Silk Ribbon Craftsy Class Giveaway

***Update, September 10***
Our winner was Maria, and I have emailed her.

Thank you all for your interest in Craftsy!
I would like to extend the offer of $20 off my class on Crazy Quilting to you.  Click this link.

Happy Stitching, Everyone!

Craftsy is giving me the opportunity to give away the Silk Ribbon Class by silk ribbon artist Mary Jo Hiney!

Isn't that luscious ribbonwork?

Mary Jo’s Mom began teaching her to sew and hand-embroider at age three and she’s been doing both ever since, eventually leading to a fascination with ribbon.  Her easy-to-follow class introduces you to the basics by exploring simple stitches, their variations and the subtle nuances of this particular type of embroidery.  Mary Jo’s students appreciate the clear and concise lessons in ribbon embroidery that lead to a great pay out.  That includes me!

In addition to teaching, Mary Jo is the owner of Mary Jo Hiney Designs, producing a thorough line of hand-dyed silk ribbons and fabrics for the textile artist, as well as a designer for Vogue Patterns.

Here is the giveaway link:

Just click it and you are entered!
Craftsy will be choosing the winner on September 9th at midnight and will let me know right away.

Mary Jo makes this form of embroidery doable and satisfying.  You will love her class!

Ooh, I love silk ribbon embroidery but I've never tried it! I didn't know there was a class on Craftsy!

I love silk ribbon work but right now I'm trying to figure out what I want to do for a spread on a bed that was made for someone in my family and sent up river for his new home with his bride. I've always loved crazy quilt so I found my way here. I had thought I would do a relatively dark quilt with splashes of the bright pure colors that I love. I did not plan on doing more hand work than I had to do. Then I saw your quilt with all the lace. I have dollies that my grandmother made plus some lace work that I've done. I'm now considering something like that using these things as a starting point. Thank you for your wonderful work and the idea.

This sounds like a wonderful class. I entered.

The materials do not come with the class, right?

Thanks for this opportunity. Whoever wins will enjoy I'm sure, and maybe that will be me. One can hope.

Have a great week ~ FlowerLady

How very generous of Craftsy to give away a class on ribbon embroidery. I have always loved this medium but have only tried bits and pieces here and there. Creative Class Bliss...

Dear Ally,
Your blog inspired me to start gathering lots of different kinds of lace and made me save all kinds of ribbons out of clothing.
I'm only starting to dare to use ribbons and lace as little accents in my patchwork and applique. Years ago I fell in love with a little cushion embelished with flowers. I saw at family's house. I didn't even know it was called ribbon embroidery. So I'm keeping thumbs up and hoping for the class.
I love your blog.

Thank you, Terenja Hüpscher-Moree
