All the quilts from the book will be on display in a special Exhibit at Road to California this week. It is such a great opportunity for me to debut my work in such a fine venue.
I've made the three quilts below since the book was finished. These will be on display at Road too.
This is a couch quilt in progress. The "leading" between the patches is multi-colored, not what you might expect in a stained glass quilt.
A free form collage creates a more contemporary stained glass quilt look.
This detail from a more traditional stained glass quilt shows how effective using silk as "the glass" can be. My next post will be on the creation of this quilt, "Garden in My Window".
Meanwhile if you are at Road to California this week, stop by my exhibit!
WOW! These are wonderful!

ReplyDeleteMy, my, my!!! You have been a busy girl. I've missed you and now I know why. :-) Wish I could be at Road to California to see all your beautiful work.
ReplyDeleteAllie.... loving all of these lovelies.... been going through my father and mother in laws home with all the sister in laws.. finding lovely hankies and different hand work items. Thinking of making something with them to make a memory quilt. My mother in law passed last May and father in law this past Sunday. They were both ready, she at 90 and he at 93.
ReplyDeleteYour is it... Flowers in the Window reminds me of a stained glass window my dad had made for my mom years and years ago. She loves yellow daffs and so thats what it was. It is a separate window that she could hang in front of the kitchen window to let the light shine through. Also when they moved they could take with them without trouble.
Hugs.... Jean
P.S. did that little baby make an appearance yet? Congrats either way.... Jean
