"Rainy Spring"....Trim Tangent!

Uh oh.....such best laid plans, such pure intentions!!!  I was all ready to assemble my blocks, honestly I was.  But then I thought, "A little gold metallic lace would be nice around the perimeter" but I didn't have any in my prodigious stash.

Aha!  A trip to the Button Emporium and Ribbonry in downtown Portland was just the answer. Yesterday, off I went.

But you can't leave a store like that with just gold lace....it's impossible.

Over the past several hours I have put a good deal of this trim onto the quilt. What can I do?  I had to!

  3. I wouldn't expect any less from you Allie. I'm in the same boat -- I need teeny tiny beads from Beadcats and some things will have to wait until they arrive...Wish I lived near downtown Portland! xo Susan

  4. Allie: I just found something called "Crazy Quilts Playing Cards Display" to preorder on Amazon books. I read your blog almost daily, but have I missed something? Can you tell us what this is? I love everything I have ever seen you do. I have learned a lot from reading your blog, and would love to know about this new project of yours. Thanks in advance, Amy in LA

  5. Sometimes a gal has to do what a gal has to do. We all have been there. At least you put yours to good use right away instead of just hoarding it. Can't wait to see it finished.

  6. Love the glitz and glitter added to the seams. I've added your book to my stash of crazy quilt books. Nice to have the options of breaking away from tradition and creating my own style. I've also ordered from the Fabric Depot ... Thank you for listing your sources for those of us who are following your blogg.
