Vintage CQ...Finishing the Center in Progress

All those little wheel blocks are sewn together, but that doesn't mean the center is finished!

The fly stitching in the seams between the triangles in each block must now be added to the seams between the blocks. I am adding little silk ribbon flowers at the intersections of all the black diamond points too.

It is slow but very agreeable work.

I'm placing a Swarovski pearl at the center of the wheels themselves, just to help define them a little bit.
The outer blocks are up on the design wall calling to me...but I may not be able to dive into them until my quilt retreat at Point Bonita at the end of the month. That will be such a joy....

I wish not acquiesce in on it. I over polite post. Especially the designation attracted me to study the intact story.

I just had to stop by again and tell you that your floral interpretations really help take the sting out of our cold white winter here. My seasonal affective disorder disappears completely when I behold these beauties!

I have to agree with Cheryl, you are so good for helping us northern readers through our S.A.D. with all your flowers and color. To see how you start a piece and then move on through with it's creation is amazing. I loved what you said about this part being agreeable. I guess the druther is tedious and it looks to be well past that. Have a blast at Pt Benita

These are coming together nicely. I'm in awe at your beautiful handwork. Can you recommend a book on the handstitches for a beginner? I've done embroidery work since I was a little girl, but it has been awhile and I don't have experience in many of the more advanced stitches.

I agree that your flowers in the winter really brighten my day. That is such an amazing pattern, I love how it changes from the round fans to the stars and back. And it is so luxurious!
