Vintage CQ...Flower # 23

"Oh, Mexico,
It sounds so sweet with the sun sinking low...."
Remember that great song?

Indeed it is sweet here, watching the sunset in San Carlos, Sonora, Mexico.....
It's been beautiful.

Still managing to get a little stitching done, though. Here is flower #23.

These are little angelina flowers made into a lilac spray. The leaves are of wool and silk felted onto cotton, with the beads added to the outlining buttonhole stitch.

On another note, we are midway through the second week of the crazy quilt auction on Ebay benefiting the Alliance for American Quilts. Head over, have a look, and bid!

Glad to see a glimpse of where you are and hope it's as relaxing as it looks...xo Susan

  10. You are missing a great deluge here in the soggiest NW. Good for ducks and the aquafer though.

Been in MN and behind on blogging... you and Susan are my first two blog visits in quite a while. Love what you're doing with the flowers, especially the lilac and the silk ribbon leaves on the daisies!

Hope you're having a wonderful, warm time in Mexico... soak up the sunshine, because you'll need it when you return. Hugs, R

  15. I like the way you made your lilac, there is a feeling of light (not heavy) and soft.

  16. I recognized Goat Teat Hill immediately! One of the greatest places I've ever been, although it was almost 40 years ago before so many Americans moved in. Would love to see it again. Hope you have a great time. Do you like shrimp? We loved the shrimp straight off the boats.
