Splurge!

I had to do it.
I've lusted after these little beauties ever since Maureen Greeson put them up on her website.
And now they are mine all mine....

They are Kensitas Vintage Flower Silks and you can find them here at Maureen's Vintage Acquisitions.

Here is a close-up....

I left this picture pretty big, so if you click on it you'll be able to see the detail...it's all in the weave. Astounding! The lupine is 2" X 2 1/2".

I've been under the weather and under the gun both this week, so I don't have a Flower #24 finished...next week, hopefully!

I have an almost complete set of these too - they were collected by my grandmother from cigarette packets. I have been thinking of trying to incorporate them into a piece of needlework. They really are lovely.

  4. Those are the same style of flowers I have been thinking about doing something with in 2010. Maybe we can have Flower Power together!

  6. I have a few of these too and they ARE gorgeous. If I ever get time to finish up my year long pieces from SharonB's challenge a couple of years ago, I'll be posting a picture of how I used them.
    Hope you feel better soon!

  12. These look embroidered in the pictures. Are they pictures of embroidery on silk? Either way, they are exquistite. And I'll bet they are healing, too. Hope so.

  15. They are luscious and even I couldd embellish a crazy quilt with them, without trying to hold an embroidery needle in my no-grip hands.

  16. The flowers are lovely... are they hand made or by machine? So tiny... whatever are you going to do with them?
Hope that your Thanks Giving was wonderful... our's was great... a bit of a handful...(we had all 3 grandkids...ages 4,2,1 to tend for 2 weeks) but it was enjoyable!
