My first flower has bloomed on the central star of a wheel block.
I enjoyed creating just a small motif to fit the space.
Each one will be a tiny vignette...
The next seven months are going to be very busy for me, and I will not be able to blog about what I am up to! But I am very excited about this project that has come my way....
So my posts are going to be more spare for the next several months...I do plan on keeping on posting about the Vintage CQ, albeit at a slower pace.
And there will be garden news, and I'll be writing about my upcoming trip in August to Lincoln, NE and the International Quilt Study Center and Nebraska State Historical Society's exhibits on crazy quilts...I'll post some shots from my beloved Michillinda in July, too.
Of course I'll be keeping up with all of you, too.... ;-)
How could I not?

Love the effect of this "vignette" on the black!
I love how tiny everything has to be. And I like your leaves - blanket stitch?
The black and the shape set that off beautifully.
Love the tiny florets. Sequins attached with beads? The whole image is sweet and simple.
So elegant, I particularly like that gorgeous burnt orange colour against the black.
Wow, I have to say I was having a hard time picturing the direction, but all I can say is WOW!
I really like your first one and look forward to the posts about it, even if they are spaced far apart.
I hope it means that there's a book in the works!
I have a feeling congratulations are in order for your new project. This block is beautiful!
Beautiful block!
Oh yeah, just what the blocks needed to come to life. Nice!
So pretty! I see you're putting those little flowers to use again, too.
Gorgeous work Allie. I will be waiting (im)patiently to see what your secret squirrel project is!!
I must admit, I couldn't "see" this piece on your earlier posts so what a wonderful surprise to see this post! It is absolutely beautiful!
Allie,
This block is inspiring and your center 'vignette' is truly a beauty.
On another note, we have good friends who have been going to Michillinda for at least 20 years, every summer...I am assuming that is Michillinda in Michigan, right? Their kids have grown up there and they love it!
Wow! This is amazing! I truly admire your style. I will miss you blogging everyday. I look at your blog first when I log on to my computer every day. Good luck in your endeavor, what ever it is! I know you will do it well!
P.S. I hope you win the CQ! It needs a good home.
Lovely, lovely, lovely, Allie! Seven months of a super secret project, huh? Interestink, dahlink! Verrrrry interstink. ;0)
I have awarded you Allie! details on my blog.
Jules x
