As an ingredient to happiness, I can't think of anything more important than gratitude, so I was very touched when Summerset thought of me for this.
In my opinion, the attitude of gratitude transforms every experience into a positive and forward moving one; when we are grateful for whatever happens or to whomever comes into our lives, we learn fast and enjoy much...and we want to give back more (which also strengthens happiness.)
My life--itself the biggest gift--has given me so much to be grateful for too....my husband and children, my precious siblings and their families, my country which I love so much, my home on the hill....this mysterious Creation that my Creator has placed us all in, so full of beauty and drama...and of course, my friends...
Freedom, time, will, joy, creativity, love...all these gifts of God make me grateful. The tough times and mistakes along the way have all been part of developing this attitude, so I am grateful for them too.
My recent experience teaching in Baltimore has given me so much to think about....and I would like to share this award with two bloggers who were instrumental in coaxing me into the new role of teacher...and who inspire me with their own positive and unique attitudes of gratitude.
Susan Elliot, of Plays with Needles
Robin Atkins, of Beadlust
Thanks for your continual inspiration....
Beautifully said!

I love what you wrote here about gratitude... It's so very true especially about the way it transforms any experience. When I used to write morning pages every morning, I'd frequently write a gratitude list, which would then seem to transform the entire remainder of the day.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for honoring me with this "award"... I don't know what (or when) I'll post about it, as it will require some thought...
In the meantime, I am so grateful that we've met and shared our love of stitching!
Oh... since I was off-computer for a while, I missed your tomato post until this evening... What a grand set of pictures! My thumbs are not even vaguely tinted green, yet I found myself wanting to try growing tomatoes. Hah! Wonder if....
Hugs, Robin A.
