Healing Block, Finished

A group of us stitchers are creating blocks for a quilt that will be hung at a breast cancer treatment center in Vermont. You can see some of the other blocks here. The theme was spring flowers and butterflies, the color scheme yellow, peach, pale green, ecru, and a touch of lilac or blue...
So that is what this block has been all about. Today I added the butterflies, and now it is finished.

I keep switching its position! When the quilt is assembled, it could go either way, depending on the needs of the adjacent blocks, I guess. ;-)
I feel privileged to be in a group with such talented ladies, sewing for such a good cause. (I'll have a list of bloggers who are participating later in the week.) Hopefully the patients at the center will be cheered up by the quilt, and will feel the well-wishes and prayers that went into its creation.

It is a beautiful block and I'm sure the patients will love the completed quilt. Thank you for the leaf tutorial in the previous post. You are such a generous person for sharing with us.

That is light hearted and happy and beautiful! "Stress causes cancer" is one thing they are told in a treatment facility - this should help, as it is a mood elevator just to look at it.

Those are some great leaves! having not been by in a few days, it was neat to stop and see the new block with those scrumptious leaves!

This is so lovely and a special thing to do. Think how many women will look at it and know you did it for them.

That is absolutely gorgeous. I am amazed at how fern-like your fronds are. Well done.

Beautiful block, and I love your two stems of SRE leaves and flowers there. It's bound to be pleasing, no matter which direction it faces.
