Easy, too. You can paint it on any fiber, and you don't have to heat set it. I like to make a thin wash, adding water to it, and layer my colors.
So I decided to paint a lace daisy for this week's flower.
Te leaves are of 2mm hand dyed silk ribbon by Vicki Day.Here's a detail...
I think it is those #20 beads in the center that make this flower. A little fine detail goes a long way! This is definitely a ''slow cloth'' project, but it is coming along...thanks for hanging with me and making your very kind comments along the way.
I'm on the run...see you next week, hopefully, from the beautiful Sea of Cortez...

The beads are very nice and the color combo of the gorgeous purple and the wonderful olive green tones is really appealing.
Not only the beads but the ribbon leaves in blanket stitch! I love the variety of flowers you are including on this quilt! Have a fabulous time down south!
I will have to try the ribbon blanket stitch on leaves.. I love it. I bought Ann Cox's book and loving it also... Thanks for the tip.

Oooh, another beauty!
This is a pretty one! I like using for any purpose that needs acrylic paint the Folk Art or Apple Barrel - the little bottles from the Craft stores. Colors are "ready made" mostly, and the consistency is much better than the Liquitex - easier to manage.
I agree about the acrylic paints. I like using them, too. But you got lovely, subtle coloration with your washes. Characteristically Allie.
Another beauty Allie. What size glasses will I need for size 20 beads? Better yet, who threads the needle that goes thru that size bead?
Have fun. I assume you and robert are going to Mexico.

I too love the ribbon blanket stitch and I'm always a sucker for purple... the beads did it for this one... have a great and safe trip to Baja
Beautiful flower and leaves, as well as the whole piece.
